This cottonwood, growing in a damp hollow on the upper grasslands above Saddle Pass, appears positively ancient and indomitable.  Medicine Root Trail is currently a 2 mile trail of mud!  I’m sure it dries out soon.  The water is going down, but March is simply a hard time for hiking.
