1855 Map. I found an historical paper on the park (a report submitted in 1969) which includes this map, a photograph of the wagon-wheel ruts (still visible crossing the prairie near Wall in 1969) and even GPS (lat-long) coordinates. The author recommended that the park boundary be drawn to include this historic route. It does not seem to be the case, however… the route followed the White River, and cut northeast across what is now the Sage Creek Road, camping at the ancient campground still known as Sage Creek Campground. I believe they left the Badlands near Pinnacle and went north to what is now Wall.
