Driving along 44, west of Interior, the scene was sometimes eerie, with visibility limited to a quarter mile: the fenced fields faded into a cold gray mist, with melt-water flooding the fields and pooling in ditches, colored by dissolved sediments, and fence-posts and cottonwood trees standing in water.
